It’s Week 2 of our Summer 2026 spotlight! 
This week, we’re beating the heat by heading to the high country and diving into the vital waterways that keep our desert alive.
Whether your camper wants to hunt for hidden treasure or splash through a mountain lake, we have an adventure waiting!
Mt. Lemmon Bound: Geocaching

The Vibe: High-tech "Hide and Seek" in the cool pines.
Ditch the desert floor and head into our beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains! Campers will master handheld GPS technology to track down hidden caches among the boulders and Ponderosa Pines! It’s about more than just finding "SWAG"—it’s about logic, stewardship, and teamwork.
Tech Skills: Programming coordinates and navigating rugged mountain trails.
Leave No Trace: Practicing "Cache In, Trash Out" (CITO) to keep our mountains beautiful.
The Challenge: Daily hikes of 3–4 miles with 500+ ft of elevation change.

Sonoran Waterways

The Vibe: Stay cool, get wild, and go camping!
Water is life in the Sonoran Desert! This week is a deep dive into our local water systems, from historic springs to modern restoration projects. The best part? We wrap up the week with a mountain getaway!
Splash Zone: Explore Tres Ríos, Agua Caliente, and the Sweetwater Wetlands.
Overnight Adventure: Pack your bags! We’re heading to Rose Canyon Lake for an overnight camping trip filled with fishing and campfire stories.
The Challenge: Be ready for tons of fun activities and daily adventures in the sun—bring that sunscreen and a hat!

We make sure our explorers are fully equipped for success:
Gear: GPS units provided for Geocachers! Tents and camping gear provided for the Waterways overnight trip.
Food & Fees: All meals (for the overnight), entrance fees, and transportation are covered.
