Sunrise Drive Elementary School is a safe and caring learning community committed to the development of the whole child. Our mission is to engage all children in the art and work of childhood, to provide them a solid academic foundation, and to have them demonstrate responsible citizenship through an innovative, rich curriculum which responds to children's needs.
Information
The Arizona Department of Education annually calculates Achievement Profiles for schools in Arizona. The Achievement Profile labels schools based upon an average of their performance over time on the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) in reading, mathematics, and writing. Additionally, points are given for the percentage of students who made adequate yearly progress on the AIMS and the Stanford 9. At the high school level, additional indicators for graduation rate and dropout rate have been established.
The Achievement Profile has identified all Catalina Foothills Schools as excelling. Excelling schools are defined as those that demonstrate optimal student performance. Only 10% of Arizona schools in 2003 are considered excelling.
