At Esperero Canyon Middle School our learning community, focused on the transitional needs of adolescents, inspires and empowers all students to achieve their academic and personal best through enriching, dynamic programs which develop character, responsible citizenship, and a desire for lifelong learning. An effective school is comprised of several critical ingredients. The first ingredient is a caring, competent staff using powerful instructional strategies to deliver a clearly defined curriculum of what students know and will be able to do. Second is a commitment to assessing every student's needs and providing whatever support is necessary to assist each individual in meeting success. Third is a partnership with parents as we team up to maximize every child's learning and school experience. The final ingredient is the ongoing celebration of successes as students accomplish small or large objectives in their learning and personal development. At Esperero Canyon Middle School, these quality ingredients mix together to create a learning community dedicated to the needs of our middle grades students.
The Arizona Department of Education annually calculates Achievement Profiles for schools in Arizona. In 2008, the Achievement Profile has identified all Catalina Foothills Schools as excelling. Excelling schools are defined as those that demonstrate optimal student performance.
