Catalina Foothills School District Strategic Plan: 2014 - 2020
The Catalina Foothills School District (CFSD) Envision21: Deep Learning Strategic Plan identifies the work priorities for a five-year period. It builds on achievements to-date and perpetuates our vision of 21st century learning. Our plan outlines our commitment to prepare students well for a 21st century life that is increasingly complex and global. We are determined to create a learning environment in which each student achieves intellectual and personal excellence.
Robotics, research and fun add up to a creative force
“Robots are fun, they attract the youngsters and those students stick with it because they want to make those robots work,” says Charlotte Ackerman, teacher leader for science and engineering practices in CFSD. “But at the same time they are having fun trying to do that, they are learning things that will make you successful in whatever you do. And for those who become passionate about it, this is one of the defining experiences of their lives.”
Open enrollment is a state law that allows students to attend schools outside of their resident school if the receiving school has the capacity to accept them. Catalina Foothills School District (CFSD) residents who wish to attend a school other than their home area school must apply under the open enrollment program as well as non-resident families.
