The goal of our governing board is to set the strategic direction of our 21st century learning agenda for the benefit of all CFSD students.
Governing Board Members
The CFSD Governing Board consists of five members who are elected for four-year terms. The superintendent - the chief executive officer of the district - is responsible for carrying out board objectives on such matters as policy, budget, staffing, and curriculum. The superintendent is also principal advisor to the board regarding educational matters, preparing and recommending budgets, employing staff (subject to board approval), administering school facilities, services and programs, recommending boundaries, and implementing rules and procedures consistent with board policy.

The Governing Board holds most of its regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Exceptions to this for the 2015-2016 calendar are: November - Monday, 11/23/15 due to Thanksgiving; December - 2nd Tuesday only (12/8/15); Monday, February 22, due to board members' schedule conflicts; and July - there are no regular meetings scheduled for July. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. at the Professional Learning Center (PLC) located at Valley View Early Learning Center, 3435 E. Sunrise Dr. The PLC is located at the northwest end of the campus, unless otherwise noticed.
The board invites community members to share their ideas during the "Public Comments" at the beginning of each meeting's agenda. Remarks are limited to three minutes.

All notices and agendas (including revisions) are posted no later than 24 hours prior to all board meetings (special and regular) at the
Murphey Administration Center and each school site.
